Whose discomfort are we overlooking to make our own comfort possible?
In laborers’ ongoing struggles for dignity in the field of essential farmwork, access to bathrooms is central. Inspired by farmworkers’ horrifying, heartbreaking, and hilarious testimonies in Bathrooms & Dignity, recently published by Not Our Farm and friends, this exhibition explores the politics of health, safety, labor, and care while shining a light on the stark realities farmworkers experience across the continent daily.
This multimedia art installation is a collaboration between Not Our Farm, a non-profit farmworker storytelling project, and Albuquerque-based artist daniela del mar, supported by the Local Food Safety Collaborative.
